The Harmonic Focus is an advanced ultrasonic surgical device that provides precise cutting, coagulation and sealing in a variety of surgical procedures. Designed by Ethicon, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, the Harmonic Focus uses high-frequency ultrasonic energy to simultaneously dissect and cut and seal tissue, and seal blood vessels to minimise blood loss. This reduces blood loss, damage and improves surgical speed. The Harmonic Focus is uniquely designed to cut and seal tissue with minimal heat damage, making it an ideal tool for complex surgical procedures requiring high precision. The ultrasonic energy allows the surgeon to carry out complex operations like dissecting soft tissues, cutting organs, or excising tumours, without damaging the surrounding tissues and potential complications. The Harmonic Focus can be used in a range of surgical procedures, such as general surgery, gynecological surgery, urological surgery, and even hepatic (liver) surgery or colorectal surgery.
